Magnificent large crocodile in cream glazed earthenware from the Sarreguemines factory, an antique from the 1930s in Art Deco style. Depicted lying on the edge of a grassy terrace. Its cream glaze features a fine network of natural crazing, typical of the factory's older productions, while the base bears a Sarreguemines stamp, difficult to read as it was faintly printed during manufacture. This large decorative piece is a fine example of French animal creations from the interwar period and will fit well in both Art Deco and contemporary interiors. 43cm in length, 15cm in maximum width, and 12cm in maximum height. Very good overall condition, with no chips or cracks, featuring a fine natural crazing of the glaze and a slight patina of use on the base, at the front of the tail, as well as at its tip. Approximately 1.5kg.
