Vintage French Rise & Fall Counterbalance Ceiling Light Opaline Glass Shade. The round opaline glass shade, casts a soft and welcoming glow. Its porcelain counterweight allows the shade to glide smoothly up and down on original pulleys, letting you adjust the height with ease. The light is wired with twin core lighting wire while the brass fitting and bulb holder with on/off switch add a warm vintage detail. The shade is secured in place with three brass screws. The origianal celing rose is in white porcelain. The light is fitted with French white twin core braided wiring and the bulb fitting is for a B22 bayonet bulb. The wire does have some discolouration in places and some fraying near the bulb holder but the wire is intact. Condition: The shade is in good vintage condition with no chips or cracks just some light blemishes within the glass. The porcelain componets are in good vintage condition with no major chips or cracks just age related marks, blemishes and minor nibbles around the wheels which all add to their vintage character. The on/off switch is in working order. The counterweight is empty and would need to be filled with sand or metal filings.
