This vase is made of thick glass and features spiral ridges. The purple glass transitions to clear glass from top to bottom. It is in excellent condition. Height: 28 cm. Diameter: 22 cm. Origin: Belgium, 1950s. Material: glass. The Val Saint Lambert crystal factory was founded in 1826 in Seraing (near Liège, Belgium), on the site of an old Cistercian abbey. The factory quickly became the centre of Belgian crystal production. Thanks to the high quality of lead crystal and the craftsmanship of the glassblowers, Val Saint Lambert gained international fame. In the second half of the 19th century, the company reached its peak, employing thousands of workers and exporting worldwide, including to Russia and the United States. The factory became particularly famous for its richly cut and coloured crystal and played an important role in styles such as Art Nouveau and Art Deco. This year, the factory is celebrating its 200th anniversary!.
