Antique solid walnut chest of drawers

Antique chest of drawers with solid walnut handles dating from the 1810s/1830s. Solid walnut on all visible sides, walnut legs and handles as well. Top composed of 2 boards, surface sanded, stained, and bistro varnished. 4 drawers, one of which is in the belt above the handles. Gilded brass handles, bronze keyholes. Wide, straight, and imposing legs topped with handles. Simple, paneled sides. Beautiful chest of drawers from a mansion in a village in northern Aveyron, southern France. Beautiful quality materials, traditional manufacturing, assembled with wooden dowels. Very good overall condition, front and sides in excellent condition, top restored. At the back of the piece of furniture, wood-eating insects have marked the wood without affecting the structure or the legs; the chest of drawers is stable and solid. Complete curative treatment of the furniture. The top has been sanded, stained, and protected with bistro varnish. The 4 drawers open and close smoothly and easily.
