Large antique school wardrobe/bookshelf in solid pine – 1950

Rare 1950s school library/shelf made of solid pine and pitch pine, fully restored, with a raw charm and authentic patina. It was sourced from an old neighbourhood school. Originally equipped with sliding doors that are now missing, this piece has undergone a complete and careful restoration, respecting its use and history. The entire piece has been: – fully sanded (interior and shelves) – treated preventively against wood-boring insects – structurally repaired (partially filled runners at the bottom) – patinated with a matched paint, true to the original colour. Some signs of wear have been intentionally preserved, highlighting the authenticity and character of the piece. Very large and particularly functional, this cabinet fits well in a living room, kitchen, office, or commercial space (shop, concept store, showroom) in a wabi-sabi or chic country style. The back of the piece is in excellent condition, allowing it to be used as a room divider.
