Kazak carpet with a geometric medallion design – Late 20th century 136 x 72 cm

Superb Kazak-style rug, characterised by its powerful and graphic decor with Caucasian influences. This piece, made around the 1980s-1990s, features three imposing crenelated central medallions, emblematic of nomadic decorative repertoire. Technical characteristics: Manufacture: Fully hand-knotted. The reverse reveals a regular workmanship and a beautiful density of knots, ensuring robustness. Materials: Wool velvet on a cotton structure (warp and weft), providing excellent floor stability. Decor: A deep red field contrasted by ivory and chocolate brown geometric patterns. The border is adorned with typical tribal craftsmanship motifs of "hooks" and chevrons. Good condition.
