Set of 2 vintage flat plates – "Floralies" model – Digoin & Sarreguemines France. Two beautiful flat plates made of fine French earthenware, from the "Floralies" model by the Digoin & Sarreguemines factory. History of the earthenware factory: Established in 1790 in Sarreguemines, Moselle, and purchased in 1800 by Paul Utzschneider, who introduced English printing techniques. It quickly became one of the largest earthenware factories in Europe. In 1876, the factory opened a branch in Digoin, Saône-et-Loire, to re-establish itself in France after the annexation of Lorraine. The Digoin & Sarreguemines brand has since become one of the most iconic names in French earthenware. Marking on the back: Digoin & Sarreguemines – Genuine Opaque – France – Floralies – no. 16. Condition: One plate is in very good condition. The second has a chip on the edge on the reverse, visible only when turned over, with no impact on the front.
