This heavily decorated wool area rug was woven by hand in the early 20th century circa 1900 in persia. The design displays an intricate floral pattern that has been symmetrically woven around the grand central medallion, this is then framed by a layered repeating pattern border. Woven on a rich red background with accents of blue, green, cream and orange that make up the delicate flowers and patterns. Constructed by master weavers with only the finest materials including hand-spun wool and cotton that has been dyed with organic dyeing techniques that have been used for generations.
