3-seater cubic sofa, 1970s

This stunning vintage 3-seater sofa features a sleek and sturdy cube design. It features a solid wood frame and comfortable leatherette cushions. We found it from the daughter of the original owner. She was told it was designed by Jan des Bouvrie for Gelderland in the late 1970s. We couldn't find any supporting documentation, but we did see a resemblance to a Bonanza model, designed by Esko Pajamas for Asko Finland in the 1960s. The wooden frame has been reinforced with metal connectors, which we had removed. There are some small screw hole filling repairs, mainly behind the cushions. The straps have been renewed by our upholsterer. The upholstery itself has been renewed over time by the previous owner and is still in good to very good condition, with only minor signs of wear.
