Scandinavian bar Torbjorn Afdal for Bruksbo

Absolutely beautiful and functional mid century modern rosewood bar cabinet/trolley by torbjorn afdal for mellemstrands mobelfabrik / bruksbo of norway, circa 1960s. Maker's stamp (furniture control norway mobelfakta) to the inside of the cabinet. Richly grained rosewood, with a fully finished back and rosewood interior. The stunning bat is both stylish and functional. The bar top slides open to provide an extended surface on both sides when entertaining, doubling the serving space and transforming the cabinet into a "stand-up" serving bar. The two cabinet doors, with an original key, open and lock effortlessly to secure the bar top during use. Brass rails on the inside of both doors provide plenty of space for glasses. Mounted on caster wheels, it is easy to maneuver when entertaining and hosting guests. When not in use, this unique cart closes to serve as an attractive accent piece for displaying books or decorative items. A perfect addition to any interior style: a real showstopper!.
