Magnificent jewelry box from the 1960s, created by the famous French ceramist Mithé Espelt. Model: "Grid". Emerald-colored lid and crackled gilding. Dimensions: length 15 cm, width 11 cm, height 6 cm. Condition: very good. A refined and rare object in this color. Born in 1923, Mithé Espelt is a ceramic artist based in the south of France. Her grandfather introduced her to the upper echelons of the artistic and intellectual world where she rubbed shoulders with Jean Hugo, Jean Cocteau, Pablo Picasso, Christian Bérard, and many others. Mithé exhibited at the Galerie La Roue in Vallauris alongside the greatest ceramists of the time. Each piece created is handmade, reflecting her commitment to quality and her passion for artistic expression. Despite her success, she remained relatively discreet and chose not to sign her works, letting her work speak for itself. His legacy is preserved today through the continued appreciation and admiration of his art, which remains a testament to his talent and creativity.
