Majestic filing cabinet from the famous english brand shannon (early 20th century), which is proudly displayed here on each original brass label holder and on each metal plate next to the unis mention. The latter is striking because it is the ancestor of made in france, for an english brand it is surprising. But as we see with the catalog reproduced in the advertisement, shannon had distributors near us, perhaps had bought the license and manufactured here. In any case, it is a beautiful work that this solid oak filing cabinet which opens with 4 large drawers which roll on metal bearings and support a significant weight even when fully open. Inside 3 of them, we find the wooden mechanism which allows to "tighten" files. In the 4th we have some files suspended on the upper metal rods. The brass handles are thick, very aesthetic, like the label holders. The unis - shannon plate is not a lock entry, but the remnant of a mechanism that has disappeared in all the drawers without leaving a trace. It remains very decorative and the absence of the mechanism does not affect the use of the piece of furniture. The drawers are all dovetailed, the sides screwed and everything is very solid and aesthetic. You can store files there of course, they remain adapted to current formats, but also clothes, comics in width, etc. A beautiful piece in its warm original patina which, apart from a few superficial snags here and there, is in excellent general condition.
