Authentic Alpine storage bench in solid larch, from the mountainous regions of Piedmont. A fine example of utilitarian rural furniture from the late 18th/early 19th century, marked by years of daily life by the hearth, hence its naturally darkened patina, full of character. The bench is constructed of thick planks, with a hinged seat allowing access to the interior storage compartment. The original, simple fittings, without locks, underscore its primarily practical use. Note: one leg was replaced during a previous restoration, a traditional practice that prolongs the life of the piece without compromising its authenticity. A raw, warm, and genuine piece for lovers of objects that tell a story. Its marks of time are part of its charm and bear witness to decades spent close to the warmth of the fire.
