Crossbow chest of drawers in solid walnut, Louis XIV period – early 18th century

Crossbow-shaped chest of drawers in solid walnut with three large molded drawers. The curved fronts are adorned with symmetrically patterned chiseled bronze handles and keyholes. The rounded uprights end in scrolled feet. The slightly overhanging top features a molded edge emphasizing the lines of the piece. French work from the Louis XIV period, early 18th century. Condition: Small chip on one drawer (see photo). Presence of old insect bites, now stabilized. Wear consistent with the age of the piece.
