A tall, cylindrical vase from the 1970s made of opaque, milky white glass—a material typical of Polish modernism of that decade. The proportions are balanced: the base is slightly widened, the smooth surface reflects light brilliantly, and the fitted lid with a domed profile crowns the whole. On top of the lid is a transparent, reflective knob, serving as the only discreet accent on the uniform form. The lack of decorations and patterns refers to the modernist principle of purity of form and utility. The vase, probably produced at HSG Tarnowiec, represents the design philosophy of the era, where functionality and simplified detail, consciously devoid of ornamentation, were valued. It is preserved in excellent condition, with no visible signs of use or damage. The form of this vase tells the story of the years when Polish designers turned to the language of modernism—seeking a balance between everyday life and modernity. The milky white glass, like a misty morning, brings calm and certainty, and the gloss of the surface emphasizes the play of light and shadow inside. The lid with a transparent knob closes the form, leaving an intriguing detail that gently reflects light like a small drop of dew on a geometric landscape. The vase seems a silent witness to order and aesthetic restraint, quietly speaking of the mature modernism's transition towards everyday functionalism. The vase can be combined with objects from the same period: minimalist consoles, low chests of drawers with simple lines, or graphics in black-and-white frames. It fits well in both mid-century modern collector arrangements and in neutral, Scandinavian spaces, where the milky glass will highlight the subtlety of the form. A composition with a single, dark green branch or flower will sharpen its architectural character, and placed against a light background, it will allow light and shadow to play. It is worth combining it with matte porcelains or chrome accessories to emphasize its modernist origin.
