Scandinavian oak armchair, 1960s

Oak frame and cotton-blend fabric upholstery. Scandinavian production, 1960s. Reupholstered. Scandinavian armchair with an oak frame, characterised by side sections in which the front and rear uprights extend to form the armrests. The construction remains fully legible, while exposed through-bolts become part of the design together with the seat rails. The seat and backrest have been reupholstered in an ecru cotton-blend fabric, replacing the original upholstery. The clearly articulated side frames are one of the features that recall Scandinavian furniture from the 1960s, where the structure itself contributed directly to the character of the piece.
