Very beautiful antique console with a very rustic and authentic charm, featuring a characterful old wooden top and turned legs. The top has been carefully sanded and then protected with a dark wax to enhance its patina and aged appearance. The wood shows numerous traces and visible galleries from woodworm. The wood has been treated and stabilised. The marks are intentionally left visible and are an integral part of its charm and history. The top also features old visible nails, knots, small scratches, irregularities, and signs of time. This is an antique piece with genuine patina, not a piece of furniture that looks new. The base and turned legs have been hand-painted in Annie Sloan French Linen, then lightly aged/distressed to maintain its rustic and old appearance. An ideal piece for an entrance, living room, bedroom, or country house, for rustic, French country, or cottage decor.
