Truly antique 19th-century large oak chest blanket/ treasure chest

DESCRIPTION: With some antique furniture, you can read its history — as with this beautiful antique wooden chest. The chest shows signs of a long life, which adds to its character and charm. A previous woodworm infestation has left a unique pattern, and the chest has been carefully restored, including a new plank in the lid. One corner has been reinforced with an old nail. The handmade construction, with hand-forged large nails and authentic hardware, highlights the craftsmanship. The planks vary in size and are joined with wood joints, pegs, and nails. Extra thick beams in the corners provide strength. Inside, there is a separate compartment for smaller items, so they don't get lost in the large space. A beautiful and functional object with lots of character. DIMENSIONS: Height: 75 cm, Length: 120 cm, Depth: 58 cm. CONDITION: The chest shows clear signs of use but is in reasonable condition considering its age. The woodworm is no longer active and has been treated as a precaution. The left hinge works but is clearly worn. The lock is missing on the inside. (See last photos for a better view of the condition.)
