Magnificent pair of high-end folding chairs model "Arca", created by Italian designer Gigi Sabadin and published by Crassevig in the late 1970s. An icon of minimalist and functional design, this emblematic model was selected for the prestigious Compasso d’Oro award in 1979. They stand out for their unique sculptural line: a perfectly circular arched backrest made of solid wood bent in hot (ash or light beech varnished), complemented by discreet chrome metal folding attachments of very fine quality. The seat is adorned with a superb traditional caning in restored Vienna straw. Lightweight, elegant, and extremely compact when folded, these chairs embody the refinement of Mid-Century Italian furniture. They integrate perfectly into a contemporary, bohemian-chic, or vintage interior. • Designer: Gigi Sabadin. • Publisher: Crassevig (Italy) • Model: Arca. • Period: Circa 1975 / 1980. • Materials: Varnished solid wood, Vienna straw caning, chrome metal. • Colour: Light wood / golden blonde. • Condition: good vintage condition.
