A rare and monumental vase made by Arnhemsche Fayencefabriek between 1910 and 1917. Combining the latest expression of Dutch Art Nouveau (Nieuwe Kunst) and the emerging order of early Art Deco, this piece captures a key moment in European ceramic art, making it a very interesting addition for collectors of 20th-century decorative arts. Designed by Klaas Vet, co-founder and artistic director of the factory, it belongs to the sought-after Lindus series. The surface is richly hand-painted with stylised floral patterns—central rosettes, lotus-shaped leaves dotted, and symmetrical vines—framed by decorative medallions inspired by Ottoman and Persian ceramic traditions. Executed in a palette of deep cobalt blue, ochre, emerald, and ivory matte glazes, the decoration reflects the peak of the Dutch Nieuwe Kunst movement while foreshadowing the symmetry and structure of early Art Deco. The Lindus line represented the most ambitious and labour-intensive work of the factory, produced in limited numbers during its most prolific artistic years. While most existing examples measure between 25 and 40 cm, this 59 cm model is exceptionally rare. The original marks on the base include the stamp "Arnhem Holland" with the rooster logo, the hand-painted decorative name "Lindus, " and the shape number "281, " all consistent with production during the factory's golden period between 1910 and 1917. Please note that there are visible damages at the base of the vase.
