Pair of Italian Etched Glass, Chrome and Wood Table Lamps, 1950s

A distinctive pair of Italian Mid-Century Modern table lamps dating from the 1950s, combining decorative etched glass, chrome-plated metal and turned wooden bases. Each lamp features a spherical glass shade decorated with a bold geometric etched pattern. The transparent and frosted areas create an attractive play of light when illuminated, while the polished metal fittings and warm wood bases give the pair a characteristic Italian mid-century appearance. Compact and highly decorative, these lamps are ideal for use as bedside or nightstand lamps, but would work equally well on side tables, a console or a credenza in a Mid-Century Modern, Modernist or eclectic interior. The chrome-plated metal components have been repolished, and the electrical system has been renewed. Each lamp accommodates one E12/E14 bulb and can be used in the United States with the appropriate plug adapter.
