This small spherical vase is blown from very thick glass, with a slightly amber hue, and its solid base ensures good stability. The mass is sprinkled with controlled fine air bubbles, denser on a median crown that encircles the belly like a necklace of air pearls. The neck, wide and cut straight, is softened by a polished flat surface. This work of bubbled glass is part of the French tradition of artisanal glassworks from the 1970s — in the lineage of Biot productions — which made the trapped bubble a decorative motif in its own right, celebrating raw material and light. These small, thick, and sensual pieces have regained their relevance in contemporary interiors. Condition report: Very good condition. Glass is sound, with no visible chips or cracks, likely with surface micro-scratches inherent to use. Charming as a short soliflore, candle holder, or simple object of material on a shelf or desk.
