Oil on canvas signed at the bottom right. Original work by Laure Placide created in Ménerbes (Vaucluse) in August 1961. Titled Landscape of Provence, this composition belongs to the artist's Provençal period, characterised by a free and luminous interpretation of the landscape through a style close to lyrical abstraction. The broad strokes of colour, animated by a vibrant palette of blues, greens, ochres, and oranges, powerfully convey the light and vibrations of the Luberon landscapes. Size 10F (approximately 55 X 46 cm). Very good condition, presented in a protective wooden frame. Born in Apt, Laure Placide developed a body of work deeply rooted in the landscapes of Provence. The paintings executed in Ménerbes in the early 1960s represent a particularly significant period of her work.
