Titled Landscape of Provence, this composition belongs to the artist's Provençal period, characterised by a free and luminous interpretation of the landscape through a style close to lyrical abstraction. The broad strokes of colour, animated by a vibrant palette of blues, greens, ochres, and oranges, powerfully convey the light and vibrations of the Luberon landscapes. Size 10F (approximately 55 X 46 cm). Very good condition, presented in a protective wooden frame. Born in Apt, Laure Placide developed a body of work deeply rooted in the landscapes of Provence. The paintings executed in Ménerbes in the early 1960s represent a particularly significant period of her work.
