Pretty expressive portrait of a woman with a bezel, straight profile, watercolor on paper, signed lower right m.marinot 1946. On the back mentions in strong black pencil; top right n° 645 (in a circle) and bottom portrait marinot 1946. Dimensions 19 X 26cm, packaged weight 250gr. Maurice marinot (1882 / 1960) french painter and master glassmaker. In 1901, he went to paris and entered the école nationale des beaux-arts, where he worked in cormon's studio until 1912 when he devoted his time to glassware. In 1937, ill, he stopped working on glass, but continued to paint. In 1944 the allied bombing of troyes hit his studio, destroying part of his works (paintings, drawings and glassware).
