Antique Hand-woven Persian Heriz Carpet, 1920 s - 140x97cm

This Heriz is knotted carpet in northwestern Persia circa 1920. The city of Heriz is situated not far from the greater city of Tabriz. In the city and its surroundings carpets are manufactured with a pattern that is easily recognised - hotel there is a large medallion with wide marked corner sections. This rug is made by fairly rough yarn on cotton warp with a rustic design. Heriz carpets, with its high wool quality, are well known for their durability and hardiness, and are very suitable for hallways and dining-rooms. Heriz carpets are suitable for homes as well as for public environments. This carpet is in original condition and has a natural patina, discolourations and crapes.
