Floor lamp by Pierre Disderot for Dallux in resin and marble from the 1960s. France, made of metal, marble, and carved resin. Pierre Disderot (1920–1991) is a major French designer and publisher of modern post-war lighting. A graduate of the École nationale supérieure des arts appliqués, he founded the Disderot company in 1950, which became an essential player in French design alongside creators like Pierre Guariche, Joseph-André Motte, and Michel Mortier. For Dallux, Disderot designed lamps with clean, functional, and elegant lines, incorporating innovative materials such as lacquered metal, brass, and opaline diffusers. His models combine industrial rigor and formal poetry, often intended for modern interiors or institutional buildings. A Dallux lamp signed by Disderot is now highly sought after for its minimalist aesthetic, authenticity, and rarity, symbolising the renewal of French design in the 1950s–1970s. Dimensions: H 140 DIAM 33.
