Period: c. 1920 – 1930. Two medium-sized flamed ceramic vases in cobalt blue and greenish colours. One vase is slightly taller and has some touches of orange. There are two swirling handles. Two stylised flowers and linear grooves adorn the vases. Stylistically, this falls between Art Nouveau and Art Deco. These vases are examples of Flemish pottery. Several centres of this type of earthenware were active concurrently in Flanders, Belgium, and it is difficult to attribute the pieces as they were rarely marked. This one is probably from Kortrijk or Tielt. Dimensions: 24.5 and 23.5 cm height, ± 12 cm diameter at the widest point. Condition: Very good. No damage.
