Chinese wardrobe made of solid elm. Between shadow and light, architectural sobriety on the outside and hidden refinement on the inside. This imposing piece, crafted from selected northern Chinese elm known for the strength of its grain, pays homage to classic cabinetry. Its streamlined structure conceals finishing details that contribute to its charm and rarity, including an interior lining adorned with reproductions of lunar paper. The interior decorated with ancient lunar paper historically served to protect silks and delicate garments from direct contact with wood, while adding a touch of poetry to each opening. True to the traditions of Ha Long Bay, this wardrobe is assembled without metal nails, using only wooden pegs and mortises for lasting stability. It features a concealed storage system with two removable hatches at the bottom of the interior space, allowing access to the lower part (the base) of the wardrobe, which was once used to safeguard valuables, family documents, or dowries. This invisible storage space is ideal today for discreetly storing your precious or bulky items.
