Vicario Armchair in Natural Wood Bamboo Style with Crossbars. Made in France.

This armchair features a structure entirely made of natural wood turned in a bamboo style, with posts rhythmically adorned with rings imitating the nodes of cane. The backrest and armrests are pierced with an elegant decoration of X-shaped crossbars centred with turned rosettes, framed by fine spindles. The solid seat in light wood rests on four turned legs connected by stretchers, ensuring the stability of the whole. This type of bamboo-style seat is part of the Japonisme and exotic trend of the late 19th century, popularised in France and Italy around 1900; the model known as Vicario illustrates this taste for light and graphic structures that foreshadowed the seats for verandas and winter gardens.
