French Louis Philippe commode from the mid-19th century. The wood is varnished walnut. This commode is equipped with four drawers, one of which is a hidden upper drawer known as a "doucine," concealed in the top band of the piece. The drawers are constructed with dovetail joints, ensuring perfect sturdiness. They can be opened daily and hold numerous items, sometimes heavy. They slide perfectly. The back of the commode features solid wood panels, making it very durable. The discreet drawer pulls do not protrude from the surface. They are made of rounded brass. The key is used to open the drawers. This commode has a beautiful patina, aged over time. Its appearance is soft and romantic. The commode is perfectly stable. It rests on low feet that respect the shape of the piece at the front, known as "pistol" feet, and two straight feet at the back. The top of the commode is made of walnut. The corners are rounded. There are some signs of wear on the surface.
