Very good vintage condition for this antique christening spoon (intended for babies and toddlers), hallmarked in Swiss silver-plated metal. Length 12.5 cm. Gross weight: 28 g. Some minor scratches from use. Two hallmarks "O.W." for the Brussels-based silversmithing firm Wiskemann, founded in 1872 by Otto-Leonard Wiskemann (1852-1909) Associated with two hallmarks of the Swiss Federal Cross (Swiss cross). Wiskemann settled in Belgium after working in Germany, Switzerland, and Paris. One silver hallmark "6" or "9" Like the Christofle company in France, Wiskemann used the then recently discovered electroplating technique for silver plating.
