Small Murano glass vase – millefiori murrine – mid-20th century

Very pretty little glass vase of Venetian art, characteristic of the glassmaking tradition of Murano, featuring a remarkable decoration of floral murrines. The piece offers a superb palette of turquoise blue, green, yellow, and opaline white, with delicate effects of transparency and texture that particularly highlight the floral patterns. Its very elegant and original shape is distinguished by a wide flared opening, a rounded body, a strongly tapered waist, and a narrow base. Period: mid-20th century, around 1940–1960. Height: 7 cm, width: 3.5 cm. The decoration, colour palette, and construction of this piece are very similar to certain productions by Fratelli Toso, a historic manufacturer of Murano. A charming piece that will naturally find its place in a collection of Italian glass or Murano glass, as well as in a refined decor.
