Exquisite silver butter/cheese plated dish with lid, beautiful victorian cheese guard, also for butter. Manufactured by albert j. Beardshaw & co. Of sheffield and marked lower c. 1880. Numbered 839. With original glass inserted for protection. All the elegance of victorian tables! Elegant silver metal cheese/butter dish with ornate lid and pierced saucer. Perfect for your christmas table and could also be a wonderful wedding gift. Very versatile piece that can also be used for pastries or muffin molds. Superb antique silver metal cheese dish in victorian style, dating from c. 1870, with a beautiful finely decorated design. Beautiful butter maker or very elegant cheese lid. Round plate with openwork decorations, domed lid with strip handle. A superb cheese serving tray ready to be enjoyed again on an elegant table. Marked at the bottom epns and a b & co. The measures: base saucer diameter: 8.5" / 21.8 cm. Glass alone: 5.7" X 5.7" / 14.5 cm X 14.5 cm. Height with lid with handle: 4.5"/ 11.5 cm. Total weight: 754 grams. Condition: no dents on the metal, no chips on the glass. Traces of age and wear, some small lack of silvering on the edges but in very good condition for a 140-year-old piece.
