Dessert service Salins, model Malmaison, 1955–1960

Vintage dessert service signed Salins, model Malmaison, consisting of a serving platter and four matching plates. The earthenware, in a delicate ivory white, is enhanced by fine golden borders and a relief crosshatch edge, a refined signature of this manufacturer. The central decoration, in warm tones of red, brown, and ochre, features a stylised floral composition with a very graphic charm. The platter is distinguished by the presence of a lovely butterfly, a poetic detail that adds movement and lightness to the whole. The side handles highlight the elegant silhouette of the platter and reinforce its appeal as both a decorative and functional serving piece. Stamped Salins France Malmaison. In beautiful vintage condition, with slight signs of wear visible on the gilding consistent with the age of the piece (see photos).
