Old slipware jug

Charming antique jug in barbotine with a curved body and side handle. Hand-painted relief floral decoration: large pink flowers (wild roses) and green foliage on a cream background, under a crackled amber glaze turning to gold towards the neck. The interior of the spout is glazed in burgundy, creating a lovely contrast. Numbered 548 under the base — typical numbering of French barbotine manufacturers (Onnaing, Sarreguemines...) that assigned a model number to each decoration. A piece in the Art Nouveau style, in line with French barbotines from the late 19th / early 20th century. Beautiful patina of time, with typical usage cracks of this type of antique ceramic.
