Pair of Italian Opaline Glass, Wood and Chrome Table Lamps, 1950s

An elegant pair of Italian Mid-Century Modern table lamps dating from the 1950s, featuring sculptural opaline glass shades, turned wooden stems and polished chrome-plated metal bases. The shapely cream-colored glass shades are marked “Cisun Champagne” and feature flared upper rims and a series of molded horizontal rings around their lower sections. The opaline glass softly diffuses the light, producing a warm and atmospheric glow. The slender turned wooden stems introduce a natural warmth that contrasts beautifully with the reflective chrome bases. This combination of materials and the lamps’ balanced proportions create a distinctly Italian postwar modernist appearance. Compact yet visually distinctive, the pair is particularly well suited as bedside or nightstand lamps, but would work equally well on side tables, consoles or as decorative accent lighting. The lamps have been carefully repolished and fitted with new electrical components while preserving their original vintage character. Each lamp accommodates 1 × E26/E27 bulb and is compatible with US electrical systems. Very good vintage condition with minor signs of age and use consistent with their 1950s origin.
