Totem Shelf by Valeric Doubroucinskis for Rodier, 1970s Dimensions: 30 X 44 cm H: 208 cm Material: Fiberglass A second shelf 172cm H available - see photo and in our items for sale Knitting shelves specially designed for the interior of the Rodier store in the 1970s. Ideal for displaying your books, clothes, shoes or collectibles. Rodier was a French company that manufactured and sold expensive and simple knitwear, in the truest sense of the word. Since most knitwear came in flat packs, the shelves had to be as wide as a folded shirt. Architect and designer Valérie Doubroucinskis, from the SNIP architecture firm in Paris (responsible for the design of all Rodier stores), therefore designed white or red fiberglass shelves, with five or six shelves that, from a distance, resemble totems. Some damage from use - see photos Vintage Condition.
