Description: Round serving plate in porcelain from the French manufacture of Couleuvre, produced as part of the prestigious artistic series "Vénerie" during the golden age of the manufacture, under the direction of Albert Laurent (from 1930). The stamp on the back bears the mark of this prestigious era, including the intertwined monogram of the initials A and L surrounding the couleuvre (for Albert Laurent). The central decoration, of great finesse and rich in colour, is the work of the famous animal and hunting illustrator Pierre Chambry. It depicts a lively scene of a hunt: a huntsman in a red tailcoat on horseback, with a hunting horn slung over his shoulder, passing in front of a signpost, followed by a pack of tricolour hounds. The scene is framed by an elegant red frieze and a characteristic contoured border. Pierre Chambry has integrated his signature within the scene, on one of the arms of the wooden sign. • Manufacture: Porcelaine de Couleuvre (France) • Artist: Pierre Chambry. • Era: Circa 1930, under the direction of Albert Laurent. • Series: "Vénerie" – Limited edition art print. • Dimensions: Large serving size, diameter of 31 cm. • Marking: Official stamp of the manufacture on the back with the series signature, the monogram "AL" of Albert Laurent, and the coat of arms. Condition: Very good overall condition, vibrant colours, no cracks or chips. Slight wear from use on the gilded rim to note.
