Vase by Wilhelm Kage with silver inlay of 2 stylised fish with bubbles. Signed GUSTAVSBERG ARGENTA with the anchor 1016. Wilhelm Kåge (1889-1960) is one of the most well-known representatives of the illustrious Swedish ceramic design of the 20th century. He was the artistic director of Gustavsberg in the 1930s and 1940s and is often referred to as the father of Swedish modernism. Kage is represented at the National Museum of Swedish Art and Design.
