Superb and rare bas-relief in dinanderie, wall plaque in copper, in the style and period of ART DECO, originating from the Arts and Crafts of the Abbey of Maredsous in Belgium. Depicting a bear washing itself with a representation of a bee in its hive below to symbolise honey. Beautiful oak frame. Circa 1930. The plaque bears the stamp "Maredsous CSPB (Crux Sancti Patris Benedicti - Cross of Saint Father Benedict) and Arts and Crafts". Dimensions: Length (with frame): 26.5 cm. Height (with frame): 26.5 cm. Length (without frame): 25.5 cm. Height (without frame): 25.5 cm. The item is in very good condition and will be delivered in appropriate packaging.
