Napoleon III garden side table with enamelled top & wrought iron 19th century

Charming garden table from the Napoléon III era, a refined testament to French outdoor furniture from the second half of the 19th century. The circular top in enamelled sheet metal is appealing with its sophisticated decor: an elegant frieze of meanders (Greek) along the edge frames a central field adorned with repetitive floral motifs in neo-medieval style, treated in shades of brown and pink on an off-white background. A decor of rare finesse for a garden piece. The tripod base in wrought iron, painted green, features three volute legs joined by a central circular ring, converging towards a round base embellished with a decorative button — a slender and graceful silhouette, typical of French production of the time. The whole piece bears a beautiful patina of time: chips of enamel on the edges revealing layers of red and gold paint attesting to its age, oxidation on the underside of the top, and naturally flaking green paint on the base. An honest and accepted wear that gives this piece all its authentic character and soul of yesteryear. Perfect for enhancing a garden, a veranda, or an interior with a taste for the belle époque. ✦ Height: 71 cm — Diameter: 51 cm — Weight: 20 kg. ✦ Sold as is, with visible wear and enamel chips.
