Restored Mid-Century Flame Walnut Highboard with Bar Cabinet - 1960s

We are incredibly proud to present a stunning example of Eastern European Mid-Century Modern design from the 1960s. This spectacular, multifunctional highboard perfectly balances elegant aesthetics with immense storage capacity. Design and Outstanding Woodwork. The absolute standout feature of this piece is the breathtaking veneer. The fronts are adorned with premium "flame" walnut veneer. The master cabinetmaker utilized the book-matching technique, arranging the veneer so that the dramatic, cathedral-like grain pattern flows symmetrically across the three lower doors and the drop-down bar cabinet. This level of craftsmanship elevates the furniture into a functional work of art. Functionality. Designed as a single, coherent unit, it serves multiple purposes while maintaining a slim profile that won't overwhelm a room. The lower section features three spacious cupboards. The upper section features a lockable drop-down bar cabinet on the left, perfect for storing bottles and glasses. To the right, there are display shelves (vitrine sections), and below them, two compact drawers for smaller items. Restoration and Finish. This highboard has been completely and professionally restored in our specialized workshop. The old varnishes were meticulously stripped down to the bare wood. We then finished the surface with a premium hard wax oil. This modern treatment provides a natural, satin-matte finish that protects the wood against daily wear and moisture, while beautifully highlighting the three-dimensional depth of the flame walnut grain.
