Beautiful oil pastel on cardboard "In Camargue" early 1900, by the painter Théo Mayan depicting a powerful and at the same time poetic scene: a herd of Camargue bulls crossing a river at dusk. Detail of a painting presented at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1913. Théo Mayan (1860-1936) Renowned Provençal painter, student of Saintpierre, Laugée and Vollon. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1883 to 1930. Medal in 1899. His work pays homage to the landscapes and rural scenes of the South: harvests, Arlésiennes, herds, wild Camargue...
