Wall-mounted bench in wood and metal designed by Charlotte Perriand for the layout of the Le Miravidi residence in Arc 1800, planned in 1973 and opened for Christmas 1974. Le Miravidi holds a special place in the history of the Arcs. It was the first programme of residential studios in the Charvet area and is also the last studio building constructed in a "craft" manner. The following year, faced with the considerable scale of new programmes, Charlotte Perriand turned to the industrialisation of many design elements for the Belles Challes, Lauzières, and Pierramenta residences. The furniture of the Miravidi contributes to this overall and particularly rational conception of mountain living. Fixed directly to the wall to free up the floor and optimise space, this bench combines a green-painted metal structure with a slatted wooden seat and a long wooden backrest. Its simple and functional construction directly addresses the limited dimensions of the studios and the ongoing quest for space-saving solutions pursued by Charlotte Perriand in the Arcs. Variable seat height: 45 cm. Origin: Le Miravidi residence, Arc 1800, France.
