Art Deco ringed turned wood harness

Beautiful turned wood saddle which will find many uses in a home: to highlight a pretty ceramic, end of sofa or bedside table... The ringed central column, very elegant, the result of lovely wood turning work , gives it a lot of charm. She is well balanced and stable, her foot is quite large and heavy. In a style reminiscent of art deco codes, it must date from the first half of the 20th century, perhaps the 1940s. It has a “z” signature under the foot and under the end of the central column. The central column is threaded at its end and screws directly into the foot, it may be disassembled for shipping. I cleaned it carefully, then I gave it a light coat of stain to unify the colors and a very light coat of varnish to protect it if you use it as a plant holder. It is in good structural condition, still very solid but does not hide its age: the foot was repaired by gluing and reinforcement with two tabs screwed underneath, the repair is very solid. The wood has the patina of time and use: various marks, notably dark spots and lightening in the center of the top, scratches, fine cracks. It measures 59 cm in height, the foot measures 29.5 cm in diameter, the top measures 35 cm in diameter.
