Pierre Soulages - Poster after Etching XVI on paper - 1961

Pierre Soulages is a French painter, engraver, and sculptor, regarded as one of the great figures of 20th-century abstract art. He is best known for his concept of "outrenoir, " developed from 1979: works that are almost entirely black where light reflects differently depending on the textures and reliefs of the surface. Born in Rodez in 1919, he gained international fame through his monumental paintings and engravings. Here is a very beautiful poster based on an etching, XVI from 1961. It is a new poster, purchased at the inauguration of the Soulages Museum, an official reproduction, published by the Soulages Museum.
