Exhibition head in West German pottery by Scheurich model 701

The dark eyes with slightly raised eyebrows give this bust an intriguing expression of being lost in thought. This pensiveness is emphasised by the slightly offset handlebar moustache above the closed lips. The 'Sepia' colour scheme, with chestnut hair and vanilla cream skin, along with this magnificent moustache, immediately transports us to the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Made by the famous West German pottery and ceramics manufacturer Scheurich, this ceramic sculpture likely dates from the late 1970s or early 1980s and will make an excellent display piece, a headphone stand, or a preferred hat or wig holder. This head is in good condition, with no chips or cracks. There is a small flaw in the glazing on the right eyebrow, and the model number 701 is barely visible on the base.
