Saint-Louis, 6 Monaco model glasses in coloured crystal, 21.5 cm

Service of six wine glasses in Saint-Louis crystal, Monaco model, in six matching colours: fuchsia pink, amethyst purple, cobalt blue, sky blue, emerald green, and anise green. Each glass bears the mark of the Saint-Louis factory under the foot. Double-layer (overlay) crystal, hand-cut, from the Saint-Louis-lès-Bitche factory (Moselle), founded in 1767, royal manufacture. Production from the second half of the 20th century. The bowl features a decoration of cut lanceolate leaves arranged in a fan pattern, revealing the colourless crystal against a coloured background through transparency. The base of the chalice is adorned with a star cut with radiating points, surrounded by a relief pattern of ovals. The knot of the stem is worked in diamond point cutting. The stem, slender and tapered, rests on a flat circular base of colourless crystal. The quality of execution — regularity of facets, depth of cut, brightness, and purity of the crystal — is characteristic of the high-end productions of the royal manufacture. Height: 21.5 cm. Diameter of the bowl: approximately 8–9 cm. Flat circular base, colourless crystal. Excellent condition for the set of six pieces. No chips or cracks noted upon visual inspection. Slight signs of use may be present under raking light, but are not prohibitive. The Saint-Louis factory is one of the two oldest and most prestigious crystal manufacturers in France, alongside Baccarat. The Monaco model in multicoloured overlay cutting is currently actively sought after by collectors of 20th-century table arts. The complete service in six distinct colours constitutes a rare and particularly coherent decorative set.
