A large polychrome earthenware bowl or dish on a heel from Vallauris Signed Jerôme Massier intaglio, and marked "J. Massier Vallauris" under the base Decorated with wildflowers, poppies, daisies, cornflowers, wheat Slight chips from use (photo) Period: 1950s Dimensions: diameter 35.5 cm, height 4 cm Ref adequantik 2105471 The three Massier companies, run by the brothers Clément and Delphin and cousin Jérôme, form one of the major productions of Vallauris. The factory of Jerôme Massier fils (1820-1909) was sold in 1899 and taken over in 1909 by his daughter Jeanne Massier and his son-in-law Marc Clergue. In 1930, their son Jean Clergue continued the production until 1953 using the stamp "J Massier Vallauris". Alain Maunier, nephew of Jean Clergue, took over the company "Jerôme Massier fils" and ran it until its final closure in 1990.
