Rare English table in solid oak, very likely from the 19th century. It can serve as a dining table or easily transform into a console or side table; this rectangular table with two drop-leaves offers many advantages. With its two retractable side legs supporting the tops, it can comfortably accommodate six people. When folded, it has a small footprint, making it very practical in small spaces. Its simple and elegant line reflects the English refinement of the George III style, which emphasised understated forms. Its round feet with pads on straight tapered legs are in the pure Chippendale style.
